And the word today is….
(drum roll please… )
— not sensible about practical matters
This, my friends, is how one feels and thinks under the influence of certain mind-altering substances!
Why, Deirdre, you aren’t one of those girls, you say to yourself. You are correct! However, I am under the completely legal and ultra necessary pain relieving medicinals post surgery and I and a bit quixotic these days!
Here’s a quote. See if you can guess where it’s from. If you’re the first 3 to get it, I’ll mention your blog next Wednesday on One Word Wednesday!
“Of all the things I’ve lost, I miss my mind the most.”
Lugubrious what a fun word to say. Just the sound of it, if you didn’t know what it meant, sounds interesting and yet it’s meaning is quite mundane. This word popped into my head and wouldn’t leave. It simply means sad or mournful. As in The girl had a lugubrious look on her face since her mother died.
I think I may have to use lugubrious in my next short fictional story post. We shall see! Stay tuned for more One Word Wednesday ideas, as I delve into more interesting sounding words in the English language! This was just a middle-of-the-night thought for me and I am going to go with it if you like it. Let me know what you think!
